INCOPA input to Commission’s consultation on sustainable use of phosphorus

12 March 2014

INCOPA contributed to the Commission’s stakeholder consultation on the sustainable use of phosphorus, which closed on 1 December 2013.

Coagulants play an essential role in our everyday lives as they are used to purify drinking water and treat wastewater. The use of coagulants in waste water treatment plants does not put any restriction on the sludge treatment options: recycling or incineration and do not hamper the possibilities for improved phosphorus reuse. Coagulants represent an environmentally and economically sound wastewater treatment solution which creates employment and growth while helping to secure Europe’s supply of phosphorus.
