INCOPA supports the statement made today on World Water Day (22 March) by the High Representative Federica Mogherini that the European Union reiterates its commitment to achieve access and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.

Safe drinking water and sanitation are basic services crucial for a healthy and dignified life. Yet, 1 out of 10 people in the world, still lack access to safe water and 1 out of 3 people without access to adequate sanitation facilities. The persistence of water scarcity and water stress, given climate change and demographic developments, are likely to affect more and more people in the future. Safe drinking water and sanitation are pre-requisites for health, growth and productivity.
